The GTS5 power wheelchair from Caterwil is the latest addition to their range of devices aimed at assisting individuals with disabilities in living life to the fullest.

Ideal for both indoor and outdoor activities, the GTS5 makes navigating urban environments such as shops, cafes, restaurants, libraries, theaters, gyms, and stadiums much simpler.

By combining electric-drive technology with wheeled and track platforms, the wheelchair promotes maximum independence for users. Pneumatic wheels ensure comfortable road navigation, while the tracks system is utilized for overcoming stairs and other obstacles.

Caterwil’s electric wheelchairs cater to individuals of all ages with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, lower limb injuries, and other musculoskeletal disorders. They are also suitable for those in rehabilitation after stroke or chemotherapy, patients with diabetes or cancer, individuals with complex hip prosthetics, and the elderly.

Caterwil GTS5 Special Features

The GTS5 wheelchair has been enhanced with new features to improve its durability and performance. These updates include protective covers for the track platform, a waterproof casing for the electronic parts, mechanisms to prevent track slippage in extreme conditions, a stronger chain for stability under pressure, and improved ball bearings to withstand long-term use in wet and cold weather.

Comfort

Just like all Caterwil wheelchairs, the GTS5 offers adjustable features for maximum comfort, including the backrest angle, armrest height, footrest angle and length, and headrest length. The GTS5 goes a step further by allowing the armrests to be folded over and providing extra soft supports for the knee rests.

Safety

Safe stair climbing
The innovative 4-track system ensures excellent traction on stairs, enabling the wheelchair to ascend stairs up to 20 cm high, even if they are uneven or damaged. A built-in gyroscope system helps maintain the user’s horizontal position while climbing.

The wheelchair is equipped with a programmed mechanism that stabilizes it during extreme leaning and automatically locks the system if the user attempts an unsafe action.

Brake System and Power Failure

Featuring electromagnetic brakes, the GTS5 will come to a stop automatically in case of an unexpected power failure. When the power is off, the chair can be switched to ‘Attendant’ mode and controlled using the handles at the back.

Safety Belts

For added security, the chair can be secured with either 2- or 4-point safety harnesses.

Transportation

With a foldable seat, transporting the chair is incredibly convenient! The compact design of the GTS5 when folded makes it easy to transport in vehicles with spacious cargo areas. In its folded state, the GTS5 is currently the most compact among all Caterwil models, measuring only 70 cm in height for transportation.
